Yates and Sivakov forced to withdraw from the Vuelta a España after COVID-19 results

Simon Yates was tested for COVID-19, forcing him to withdraw from the Vuelta a España.

Team leader BikeExchange-Jayco finished fifth overall at 4:50 a. m. World tour.

The team said its medical team would conduct additional tests to ensure the protection of other cyclists and team members.

“During the night, our rider Simon Yates showed symptoms of COVID-19 with mild fever and body aches,” team leader Dani Castillo said.
