“Wow, that’s huge”: St. Thomas, Ontario. Officials at Volkswagen’s battery plant in Germany

On more than two million square feet, the mayor of St. Thomas, Ontario. No was able to see the length of the battery factory being built in Salzgitter, Germany.

They met with the mayor of Salzgitter and visited the battery factories and Volkswagen.

It’s been an exciting week for those involved in the “Mega Site” project.

“We came into the week with a positive announcement,” he says.

“It was the first qualifying round that was over. This gave us a great opportunity when we came to Germany to talk to the president of PowerCo (SE), Frank Blome.

Preston spoke at a PowerCo SE town hall, and the officials crammed a lot into the two days of activity.

“This answered some of the questions we had about the paints and the manufacturing procedure of the batteries. They have a pilot line in Salzgitter that’s impressive to see, both on the production and recycling side, where they turn those batteries into others. and other batteries,” he said.

Dyke says the facility is two cells, a cell is what they are calling each building in St. Thomas, and being able to see the enormity of each of those cells, is exciting to know what is coming to St. Thomas is that impressive and more.

During the tour of the recycling plant, officials discovered that PowerCo’s pilot task achieved 95-97% power in reused batteries.

“They grind them up and rebuild them to make new batteries, which eliminates the need to go back into the mines to the chemicals that were originally introduced,” he says.

Before traveling to Germany, Preston met with the new PowerCo SE workers who started working in an office on Talbot Street in St. Petersburg. Thomas, located in the former Marriott Call Middle building.

“We’re talking about 30 employees, all from Canada,” Preston says.

“They all work in human resources (human resources), structure and planning, with the goal of having about three hundred more people working in this office. I don’t think downtown doesn’t notice.
