The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has officially showcased the FIS World Cups in the United States for the 2024-25 season, headlined by the first consecutive FIS Alpine World Cup men’s and women’s sprint races at Birds of Prey Trail in Beaver Creek and the FIS Alpine World Cup Finals at Sun Valley Resort, according to an FIS press release.
In addition to the men’s Birds of Prey that Beaver Creek has hosted since 1997, they will have the chance to race on the well-known speed track in December, the weekend after the men at the Stifel Birds of Prey presented via the United Airlines CV. It will be the first time he has raced on the iconic Birds of Prey circuit.
The race will mark the first time many members of the U. S. Stifel ski team have been able to make their comebacks. The U. S. will compete in a National Snow World Cup, joining high-performance athletes Lauren Macuga and Bella Wright. The hotel will also welcome back the “winningest” alpine skier of all time, Mikaela Shiffrin, as she chases her 100th World Cup victory just miles from her home in the Vail Valley.
“Running in Killington has been vital to our sport, and now women can make multiple stops in North America,” said Olympic champion and 97-time World Cup winner Mikaela Shiffrin. “I have a lot of wonderful memories of skiing in Beaver Creek, especially from the 2015 World Championships. It’s an iconic World Cup speed track with the world’s most productive team, the Talon Crew, and the surface is incredible. It’s so wonderful that we’re going to close out the season in Sun Valley as well with the Stifel Sun Valley Finals. I can’t stress enough how vital it is for the next generation of skiers to see and revel in the World Cup in our country. It is so vital and a must-have for the expansion of our game here at home.
The men will compete at Beaver Creek the previous weekend, kicking off their race season with the annual Stifel Birds of Prey races presented via United Airlines, super-G, downhill and giant slalom. The giant slalom race is back in Beaver Creek for the first time. It’s time since the athlete of the U. S. Stifel ski team has been a member of the Stifel ski team. USA’s Tommy Ford earned his first World Cup win on track in 2019. The races will feature local favourite River Radamus, more sensible alpine skier Bryce Bennett and Olympic silver medallist Ryan Cochran-Siegle.
The Alpine World Cup Finals also return to the U. S. The U. S. S. Finals will host the Stifel Sun Valley Finals for the first time since 2017, and Idaho’s Sun Valley Resort will host the Stifel Sun Valley Finals. The occasion invites the 25 most sensible athletes in the alpine discipline, including probably the Swiss phenomenon Marco Odermatt. and Lara Gut-Behrami, Italy’s Sofia Goggia, Brazil’s Lucas Braathen and many athletes from the U. S. ski team Stifel.
The FIS World Cup circuit in the USA2024-25 will make her debut again on the East Coast of Vermont with alpine giant slalom and slalom races at the Killington Stifel Cup. This follows the first successful Mountain Freestyle World Cup last season. The competition continues with the fan-favorite Intermountain Health Freestyle International in Deer Valley. From February 6 to 8 with World Cups of tycoons, antennas and double tycoons. This occasion is a staple of the freestyle program and attracts large crowds year after year. Both occasions will be presented through the strong U. S. women’s freestyle skiing team. U. S. Stifel, who consistently finished on the podium in the 2023-24 season.
The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup circuit will arrive in Lake Placid for the third time since 1990 on February 8 and 9. For the first time, the event will feature men and women on the combined team and in the individual airs. The women’s event will be an addition to last season’s schedule. The best U. S. athletes to watch are Erik Belshaw and Josie Johnson, both silver medalists at the 2024 World Junior Championships.
