India recorded 1,334 new coronavirus infections, the lowest level in 188 days, bringing the number of cases to 4,46,44,076, while the number of active cases dropped to 23,193, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.
The death toll rose to 528,977 with 16 dead, adding 12 deaths counted in Kerala, according to data updated by the ministry at 8 a. m.
Active instances account for 0. 05% of total infections, while the national cure rate has risen to 98. 76%, he said.
The ministry said a minimum of 239 cases recorded in active cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours.
While the daily positivity rate was recorded at 1. 52 percent, the weekly positivity rate stands at 0. 95 percent, he said.
The number of other people who recovered from the disease amounted to 4,40,91,906, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1. 18%.
According to the ministry, 219. 56 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as part of the national vaccination campaign.
The COVID-19 count in India had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.
He surpassed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, November 20, and surpassed the crore mark on December 19, 2020.
India recorded two crores of instances in May and 3 crores on June 23 last year, and four crores on January 25.
Of the four deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, one each reported in Karnataka, Odisha, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh.
