Will India witness the fourth wave of COVID in January 2023?The expert says the number of instances will occur in the next 40 days

The next 40 days will be when India may see a buildup of COVID-19 cases in January, official resources told PTI, bringing up the trend of previous outbreaks. “Previously, it was detected that a new wave of COVID-19 is arriving in India about 30 to 35 days after arriving in East Asia. It’s a trend,” one official said.

Sources from the Ministry of Health, however, shared with the news that the severity of the infection is lower. Even if there is a wave, deaths and hospitalizations will be very low, they said.

Amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in some countries besides China and South Korea, the government sounded the alarm and called on states and union territories to prepare for any eventuality. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Health Minister Mandaviya held meetings to assess the country’s preparedness to deal with a new wave of cases.

Simulated trainings were held at fitness facilities across India on Tuesday to verify operational readiness to deal with any outbreak of COVID-19 infection, and Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the country will need to remain alert and ready as cases rise globally.

The most recent increase in cases is caused by the Omicron BF. 7 subvariant. The transmissibility of this BF. 7 subvariant is reported to be very high. One user inflamed with the subvariant can infect 16 people.
