(BRASILIA, Brazil) – Brazil’s first and fifth member of President Jair Bolsonaro’s wardrobe tested positive for the new coronavirus, authorities said Thursday.
Science and Technology Minister Marcos Pontes wrote on Twitter that he tested positive after experiencing flu-like symptoms and headaches. The 57-year-old man is now isolated. The presidency’s press workplace later said that Michelle Bolsonaro, 38, had also tested positive.
The press release indicates that it appears to be in good health, but will adhere to established protocols.
He participated on his first public occasion on Wednesday, rural workers, with his wife. They were joined by the Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, and the Minister of Women, Family and Human Rights, Damares Alves.
Last week, The Minister of Citizenship, Onyx Lorenzoni, and the Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, announced that they had tested positive. In March, two members of the closet became infected.
