WHO: Kazakhstan makes every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19

BAKOU, Azerbaijan, 18 August

By Nargiz Sadikhova – Trend:

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health is doing everything it can to treat patients and prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease, Caroline Clarinval, WHO’s workplace director in Kazakhstan, told Trend Caroline Clarinval.

Clarinval said that in the context of the war opposed to COVID, the Kazakh government is cautiously stepping on the territory.

“The challenge is to strike a balance between the economic need for ‘reopening’ and the continuing threat of public aptitude posed by COVID-19. There is also a social and mental control challenge: other people want to feel there is progress,” he said. Said.

Overall, Clarinval noted, the scenario in Kazakhstan is stabilizing.

He added that it would possibly be too early to say that Kazakhstan “flattened the curve,” but given the concentration of cases and the country’s vast geography, some regions would possibly move faster than others.

Referring to WHO’s actions to curb the spread of COVID-19, Clarinval said WHO regulates measures to adjust or modify public fitness measures to be implemented at the lowest administrative level.

“This means that the measures want to be changed in the express context and on the basis of express epidemiological criteria, public aptitude and fitness service capacity and on acceptability and viability at the local network level,” he said.

In addition, Clarinval noted a desire to implement WHO’s recommendation on complex public aptitude measures.

“Quarantine alone cannot improve the situation, it is advisable to respect the essential principles that prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as hand hygiene, respiratory label, physical distance, etc. ,” he said.

The head of the WHO country is under pressure that responding to an outbreak requires a collective effort.

“On the one hand, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health plays an important role. At the moment, the ministry is doing everything possible to treat patients and prevent them from spreading the disease. But it’s a confusing task. Responding to an epidemic” such as COVID-19 requires the interaction of all other components. It also requires a strong sense of solidarity because only together can we respond adequately to the existing COVID-19 epidemic,” he said.

“On the other hand, each of us has a role to play in determining the long term of this pandemic. It is imperative that everyone continues to comply with fundamental hygiene measures (washing hands with soap and water or disinfectant and adhering to the breathing label) and staying at least 1 meter from others whenever possible. In spaces of widespread transmission, WHO advises dressing in masks where physical distance cannot be maintained. This new “normality” has our reality,” he added.

The first two cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Kazakhstan among those who arrived in Almaty from Germany on March 13, 2020.

The total number of coronavirus cases shown in Kazakhstan since the virus first appeared in the country amounted to 103,300 cases, including another 84,445 people who have recovered from coronavirus and 1,415 deceased patients.
