On April 6, President Joe Biden ordered states to make each and every adult eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine by April 19, just two weeks before his original May 1 schedule.
Alaska was the first state to announce and enforce eligibility for all adults on March 9. Since then, states have gradually opened up eligibility in other timeframes, with most states opening eligibility well in advance of the deadline. the remaining seven states opened eligibility to all adults, making everyone 16 and older eligible for the vaccine anywhere in the United States.

On May 10, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration issued a report on the U. S. Food and Drug Administration. The U. S. Department of Health expanded the emergency use authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for adolescents ages 12 to 15, and on May 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention officially announced that the vaccine will be used for this population. States have begun administering doses to people 12 and older, though those under 18 are not currently eligible for the Pfizer vaccine. On May 25, Moderna announced that its vaccine is effective for both teens and adults and plans to roll it out. for FDA emergency use authorization for youth ages 12 to 17 in June.
Although more than half of U. S. adults are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, the speed of vaccine rollout has slowed, prompting local governments and businesses to look for new ways to inspire others to get vaccinated. Whether it’s tickets to baseball, or the chance to win $1 million or more in states like Ohio and California, vaccine incentives have led to another bureaucracy across the country with a not-so-unusual goal: achieving herd immunity.
