Ukraine participates in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global access to the coronavirus vaccine (COVID-19) programme, where the country will get enough doses for 20% of its population, said Ukraine’s Medical Director of Health Viktor Liashko.
“Through this cooperation, Ukraine will download vaccines for 20% of its population (in quotas) at a cost or loose, which will reduce the burden on the vaccination budget of other high-risk groups,” Liashko said on his Facebook. page on Friday.
He also stated that 139 vaccines are already in preclinical studies, 25 have been approved for clinical trials and six of them are as close as possible.
At the same time, Liashko stated that it is difficult to make predictions about the type of vaccine and the modalities of its application.
