Hours after the NFL announced that the Titans had returned 8 positive control effects of COVID-19 (3 players, five teams of workers), the Titans placed 3 players on the COVID-19 reserve list on Tuesday afternoon.
Players: defensive lineman DaQuan Jones, long shot Beau Brinkley and tight finish Tommy Hudson, who is on the practice team. They are among the most sensitive names on the Titans list, but two out of three play an important role on Match Day.
TITANS NEWS: 3 Titans players, five members tested positive for COVID-19; the team suspends in-person activities
Here’s a little more about the player:
A team captain, Jones is one of the oldest members of the Titans, having joined the team in 2014 as the fourth outdoor circular at Penn State. If Jeffery Simmons is the circuit breaker on the Titans’ defensive line, Jones is the solid anchor. The 28-year-old started all three Titans games this season and has 8 tackles in total. As abominable as the team’s fighting defense has been so far, things would get even worse without Jones, one of the team’s most productive plugs. .
Behind Jones, the Titans have Jack Crawford, Larrell Murchison, Matt Dickerson and Isaiah Mack in the depths.
Brinkley, another player who has been with the Titans longer than the maximum number of players on the list, plays a vital role in special teams. His efforts are largely unknown, however, he handles all long-term responsibilities in clearing shots and area goals. Brinkley has been with the Titans since 2012.
It is known who the Titans would turn to for a long break in Brinkley’s absence. The Ben Jones Center is indexed as a back-up to the team’s unofficial intensity chart.
Hudson has been hiding in the Titans practice squad since the end of the camp. Hudson, a product of the state of Arizona, signed in May as an uns recruited loose agent.
