WHO announces increase in COVID-19 deaths in Africa

The Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Africa said there are more than 43,000 COVID-19 deaths on the African continent.

The death rate reportedly increased to 4,000 in November from 41,000 to 26 October.

In addition, the number of recoveries increased from 1. 3 million on 26 October to 1. 4 million on 3 November, according to figures in the WHO Scoreboard.

Also that the number of instances shown remains above 1. 7 million.

Meanwhile, in a publication on the WHO website, the COVID-19 Emergency Committee met on 29 October to review the scenario and progress in transitional recommendations.

They noted that the pandemic remained a public aptitude emergency of foreign fear and suggested a reaction in efforts based on lessons learned and solid clinical evidence.

WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus accepted the committee’s view that “WHO will continue to paint in partnership around the world to publicize science, responses and solidarity. “

The committee commended WHO’s leadership and activities in the global response, adding its key role in creating evidence-based leadership and providing technical assistance to countries.

He also thanked WHO for its role in providing essential materials and equipment, providing transparent data and combating erroneous data, and convening solidarity tests and the COVID-19 Tool Accelerator (ACT).

The committee provided concrete and specific recommendations to WHO and countries in the coming months.

He stressed the importance of consistent, evidence-based and risk-based measures for foreign trafficking, surveillance and contact-seeking efforts.

The committee also maintains essential fitness services, adds intellectual conditioning services and prepares plans for COVID-19 vaccines in the long term.

He suggested that countries make the pandemic reaction political, as it seriously undermines global efforts.

By the time the committee met for the fifth time, the number of international authorities reported had reached 44 million, with more than 1. 1 million others wasting their lives as a result of COVID-19.
