David Horovitz is the founding editor of the Times of Israel. In the past he edited the Jerusalem Post (2004-2011) and The Jerusalem Report (1998-2004).
All of this means that the tactic of early elections is not over; Hauser’s commitment to transitoryness still does not give Israel a genuine state budget for 2020-2021, with terrible consequences for the public and Israelis of the working class in particular, and therefore gives Netanyahu the opportunity for exactly the same maneuver in a few months.
Non-obsessive fans might be surprised by some of the above. This is not the case with the Israeli electorate. A ballot through the thirteenth channel, published on Sunday night exactly when Netanyahu was largely friendly with the electoral shadow over Israel, revealed that 59% would blame him if we were forced to vote again, compared to only 20% responsible to Gantz. More troubling to Netanyahu, the survey showed that 50% of respondents than the “main factor” that lately influences Netanyahu’s political decisions is “his legal future,” and only 18% think he basically weighs “the interests of the state. “
These were obviously not the conclusions that encouraged a new use of the ballot box. But the non-crisis is not over. Our leader, in his wisdom, decided that now was not the time.
