The World Cup is fast approaching, with the last round of Premier League matches until Boxing Day this weekend.
The players who have decided to participate in Qatar will fly to register for their national groups in the coming days, with Arsenal duo Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus already called up via Brazil.
So what will happen at Arsenal during the World Cup?What will Mikel Arteta do to keep players not participating in the tournament in the most productive way imaginable?
GOAL has the answers to those questions and more. . .
Arsenal’s last Premier League match before the World Cup break faces Wolves on Saturday night. After that, players who have decided to compete in Qatar will leave to sign for their national teams.
But team members involved in the World Cup, such as captain Martin Odegaard, will have around a week off to recharge their batteries after such a turbulent start to the season.
They will be allowed a holiday with their families before resuming education at London Colney.
After a few days back in London Colney, Arteta and his team will fly to a camp in Dubai.
The Gunners have been there several times in recent years, and the team’s last position was in February.
Arteta is a big fan of the amenities on offer in Dubai, and he and the team have to spend 10 days there at their warm-weather education camp.
They will be founded at the Nad Al Sheba educational center.
Arsenal will not only exercise their time in Dubai, they will also participate in an exhibition tournament.
They must play two matches in the competition, with AC Milan, also sponsored through Emirates, one of the other groups involved.
The other adjustment is expected to be opposite Lyon, the final contracts for the tournament have not yet been signed.
However, the talks are at a complex stage and Liverpool are expected to be the fourth team involved. However, the two English clubs will not face each other.
Arsenal will face Lyon on Dec. 8 and AC Milan on Dec. 13.
Both matches are scheduled to be played at Al Maktoum Stadium, home of Al Nasr. Fans will attend.
With Dubai-founded Arsenal, there is a chance that players who retire before the World Cup will simply sign up for the rest of the team in the UAE.
However, this is confirmed, as national team tasks may mean that players would have to return to their home country with the rest of the team after leaving the tournament.
Arteta is keen for his players to sign up for the squad in Dubai, so it’s conceivable that Arsenal are looking to make this happen. But it all depends on individual circumstances.
After spending 10 days in Dubai, Arsenal will return to England after the match against AC Milan.
They are due to land in the UK on December 14 and then accelerate their arrangements for the return of the Premier League.
The team will have no free time after Dubai. He will return to education at London Colney.
All the players who left the World Cup at that time and could not sign for the Dubai squad, will sign for their teammates after returning to London.
Arsenal are planning to draw a friendly at Emirates Stadium on Saturday 17 December.
There are ongoing talks with several Spanish clubs to participate, no agreement has yet been signed with any team.
The match, if given the green light, will be very similar to the Emirates Cup adjustment that saw Arsenal beat Sevilla this summer.
It will be open to fans and the main ticket price points will be published once the final contracts have been signed.
If Arsenal cannot schedule an adjustment for the Emirates on the 17th, a friendly behind closed doors at London Colney will take place this weekend.
