The federal government has entrusted young Nigerians with letting them down, with the promise of institutionalizing smart policies and systems that would gain advantages in their growth.
The Minister of Special Tasks and Intergovernmental Affairs, George Akume, gave this assurance when he won the leadership of the Integrity Group of the Congress of All Progressives (APC) in Abuja.
Akume suggested that they join president Mohammadu Buhari’s leadership and not allow negative opposition comments to harm their spirit and confidence in a larger country.
He added that despite achievements such as infrastructure progression and youth empowerment, the opposition will continue to attack the Buhari administration.
“Most of you are other young people. And other young people are primary assets of government, so this administration has focused on selling and promoting the path of young people.
On Wednesday, the president announced November 1 as Youth Day, the first of its kind since Nigeria’s independence in 1960.
