Muscat, Oman: Gulf Business Machines (Oman) announced the appointment of Mr. Mahmoud El Kordy as Managing Director, replacing Mr. In his new role, El Kordy will continue to lead GBM Oman’s efforts towards the Sultanate’s Digital Strategy, which strives for Oman in a fashionable virtual society.
The Kordy brings more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry across geographies and joins GBM from IBM Middle East and Africa, where he held various sales and systems leadership positions, great insights and analytics. Prior to that, El Kordy worked at IBM Europe for several years as head of service sales. As GBM’s CEO, he will work hand-in-hand with GBM consumers in the Sultanate as they embark on their virtual transformation journey.
Commenting on his appointment, El Kordy said: “I am very pleased to lead GBM’s operations in Oman to drive the company’s strategy to drive Oman’s virtual transformation and align with Oman’s vision for 2040. Our goal will be hybrid cloud, AI and security to meet the national timeline of the virtual economy.
Mahmoud holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
