If there’s one country that loves baseball, it’s the Dominican Republic. If there’s one player who deserves his own World Series parade, it’s Houston Astros starter Cristian Javier.
Combine the two and you get what happened on Sunday when his country presented Javier with its own World Series parade.
The streets were filled with people celebrating his performance last normal season and the playoffs. Javier was instrumental in Houston’s no-hitter in Game 4 of the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies when he pitched 6. 0 innings before making way for the bullpen.
Javier was in the playoffs when he pitched 12. 2 innings and allowed just one earned run while retiring 16 batters.
The right-hander’s playoff performances not only earned him his own parade, but also a bigger role in the Astros’ rotation in the 2023 MLB season.
