Dr. Anthony Fauci, President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser and head of former President Donald Trump’s COVID-19 task force, ignored many questions from reporters Tuesday about his role in investigating the origins of COVID-19.
Fauci and Dr. Ashish Jha, Biden’s current most sensible COVID-19 adviser, joined White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at Tuesday’s briefing, Fauci’s last appearance in the session room before retiring next month.

Fauci’s appearance Tuesday was aimed at urging Americans to update their COVID-19 booster shots, but the briefing temporarily turned into chaos as reporters began pressing him about his non-public role in investigating the origins of COVID.
On several occasions, Jean-Pierre began yelling at journalists for asking unusual questions.
“We have a procedure here, I don’t call other people yelling, and you disrespect your colleagues and disrespect our guests,” he said. He has to get out in a few minutes. “
At the end of his stay in the meeting room, Fauci responded to plans by the incoming Republican majority in the House to investigate his handling of the pandemic.

Fauci noted that he had testified before Congress “hundreds of times” and would comply with Republican investigators if asked.
