OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) on Monday opened kiosks across the state offering free COVID-19 and flu tests.

So far, 17 kiosks have been installed. They can be found at food banks, transit stations, churches, schools, and libraries. DOH partnered with local fitness jurisdictions and tribal nations to achieve greater success in underserved communities.

“By introducing these state-of-the-art kiosks, DOH is taking a step toward ensuring the well-being of our communities,” said Secretary of Health Dr. Umair A. Shah. These 24/7 kiosks exemplify our commitment to fitness equity, especially for underserved populations. Together with tribes and local partners, we’re making a meaningful difference in network fitness and selling a safer Washington and fitness for all.

Kiosks are open 24/7 and are free, and all fees are covered through the DOH. Testing features include swab PCR tests, COVID-19 immediate antigen tests, and multiple immediate antigen tests (for influenza A and B and COVID-19). types).

The DOH reports that although respiratory virus activity has decreased recently, emergency room visits due to influenza are still at “epidemic levels. “
