TORONTO, April 10, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — The Retail Council of Canada (CCC) is proud to announce that Walter Lamothe, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bentley, has been appointed to the Retail Council of Canada (CCC).
At the age of 17, Mr. Lamothe, then a welder in Alberta, discovered his fondness for retail. He started as a $3-an-hour inventory salesman at a Jack Fraser store in Edmonton, Alberta, and temporarily progressed to become a manager of a Tip Top Tailors store in Hull, Quebec, at the age of 21. His career continued to grow when he joined Shirmax, rising to the position of Store Manager. He effectively controlled the company’s track record in 1993 and his controlling contributions were noticed, which later led to his appointment as Executive Vice President of Operations, a position he held until 2002.
In 2002, Mr. Lamothe joined MEXX Canadá. Me became President in 2004 and President and Chief Executive Officer in 2007. In 2011, he joined Reitmans Canada, where he held leadership positions. In 2014, he was named President and Chief Executive Officer, overseeing Reitmans’ entire portfolio of brands, a position he held until 2016.
He appointed Bentley President and Chief Executive Officer.
