Visitors from outside the city who frequented the Muskoka complex, the place to eat were positive for COVID-19

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is investigating an out-of-town COVID-19 case organization that tested positive for the virus after visiting a complex and a place to eat in Muskoka during the long weekend of August, the region’s fitness official showed Tuesday.

People who tested positive for coronavirus live outdoors in Muskoka and Simcoe County and were part of an organization of about 30 people from various families who visited the Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario, local health medical officer Charles Gardner said at a press conference. . Of these, 15 people, one of whom was positive, dined at separate tables at 3 Guys and a Stove in Huntsville on August 2, a place to eat, Jeff Suddaby, told Global News on Tuesday.

“None of them had symptoms at the time,” Gardner said. “Individuals among them developed symptoms after returning home from the domain and sought evidence, with effects for 11 of those people.”

The Huntsville food place reported Sunday that one of its visitors tested positive for coronavirus, leading it to close its doors and its food truck business the same day.

Suddaby said the place to eat had been cleaned very well since then and that all the workers had been screened for the coronavirus, they are still waiting for their results.

If all the effects are negative until Thursday, Suddathrough said the place to eat could reopen on Friday.

“(We are) conducting research on the contacts on the site of those services, the complex and the place to eat, who deserve to be isolated and evaluated and monitored for further research,” Gardner said.

“So far, we’ve known that a user is the main threat and is isolated.”

Suddaby said the waiter who handled the matter had been quarantined until 18 August.

There was a “high degree of compliance” at Deerhurst and 3 Guys regarding the infection measures, Gardner said, which stepped forward in the situation.

To date, Gardner noted, there have been no cases of network transmission in Muskoka similar to coVID-19 cases that visited the complex and restaurant.

“A vital message would be that there is the possibility of transmission, even in Simcoe, even in Muskoka, even when the rates are very low,” Gardner concluded.

Global News contacted Deerhurst Resort for feedback, but got a reaction at the time of publication.
