The website reported that foreign flight bookings through Chinese tourists on the first day of the May 1 holiday hit a record high, up 20% from the pre-COVID-19 level.
“The number of airline ticket bookings to various destinations without visa during the May 1 holiday exceeded the figures recorded at the same time in 2019,” Qunar noted.
The number of searches to Vietnam from China has also almost recovered to pre-pandemic levels, reaching 95% compared to 2020, a positive sign for Vietnam’s tourism industry.
Chinese visitors tend to spend a vacation in Vietnam because of its rich culture and beautiful natural landscapes.
Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, the United States, the Philippines, and Australia make the list of the top 10 favorite destinations for the May 1 holiday.
