Video: Egypt launches tourism crusade to attract World Cup fans

Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has launched an overseas promotion crusade to promote its country and attract group enthusiasts at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The crusade aims to have Hajj fan card holders stop at the Egyptian tourist destination and after their participation in the tournament.

An official from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said the amenities have an interest in maximizing Egypt’s tourism benefits from the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18.

The CEO of the Egypt Tourism Authority, Amr al-Kady, said that the crusade aims to publicize the services offered and invite enthusiasts of the groups participating in the world’s most popular tournament to stop at Egypt’s tourist destinations while in the Middle East. .

He added that this will provide them with an outstanding tourist experience, in addition to their participation in World Cup matches.

The crusade is conducted in many languages, he added, English, Spanish and Portuguese, and uses the latest generation to target advertising messages to audiences in the Gulf region to stick to tournament matches, synthetic intelligence and other means.

Among the benefits offered by Egypt is the adoption of visa facilities to enter Egypt for Hayya cardholders participating in the World Cup in Qatar, similar to what was done in the era of tourism recovery due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Coordination has also been established with Egyptian hotel associations in some Egyptian resort cities to offer a percentage of accommodation costs advertised electronically (online) to Hayya cardholders.

The Supreme Council of Antiquities announced its Board of Directors’ resolution to award 50% to Hayya Card holders on fees for visiting archaeological sites and museums affiliated with the Council, which are open for visits.
