Dubai: A circle of eight-member expat relatives was swept away by strong waves in the Al Mughsayl region of Oman’s Dhofar governorate on Sunday, local media reported.
The Ambulance and Civil Defence Authority (SADC) said it had only controlled to save 3 of them and hunt down five.
In a statement, SADC said the circle of relatives was laughing on Al Mughsayl beach in Dhofar governorate when they were swept away by the strong waves.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, appearing at the moment the circle of relatives took the waves away.
The royal Oman police said they were also for the five members of the Asian family, adding 3 young men in the Al Mughsail area.
Following the accumulation of reports of missing persons, Oman has temporarily closed all tourist sites in the Sultanate due to volatile weather conditions.
