EREVAN, AUGUST 20, ARMENPRESS. On 19 August, the next political consultation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay.
ARMENPRESS reported through the press service of the MFA Armenia that a separate assembly was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan and Carolina Ache, Deputy Minister of the Interior of Uruguay as a component of the consultations.
Historical bilateral friendlies and clients were discussed for their greater progression. The normal Armenian-Uruguayan political dialogue, the expansion of the legal field, the commercial, economic, interparliamentary, clinical and educational progression were highlighted.
The opening of resident embassies in any of the countries was evaluated as another indicator of friendly relations between Armenia and Uruguay. Vice Foreign Minister Hovhannisyan reported on the goal of opening the Armenian resident embassy in Montevideo, a similar resolution adopted by Uruguay in August 2021.
The parties also discussed cooperation within foreign organizations. Reference was made to urgent problems on the regional and external agenda.
Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented the existing issues on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, highlighting the importance of the non-violent agreement procedure to identify a solid peace in the South Caucasus.
On the same day, the Vice President of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, the President of the Senate, Beatriz Argimón, won the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Topics similar to the progression of bilaterals were discussed.
During the trip to Uruguay, the delegation led by Paruyr Hovhannisyan also had an assembly with representatives of the Uruguayan Armenian community.
