Viaplay acquires the documentary Crisis in Cocaine Valley

Viaplay Group has taken over the documentary Crisis in the Cocaine Valley, which explores the impact covid-19 has had on the titular region of the Peruvian Andes.

Produced through Germany’s Maximus Film, Crisis in Cocaine Valley plunges into the rainforest where one of the world’s largest cocaine production sites is located. Local labs used to produce several tons of drugs a month, but Covid has threatened to extinguish the region’s cocaine production.

Crisis in Cocaine Valley provides exclusive access to many key players in the region and tracks abandoned and active cocaine pools and drug labs to uncover the pandemic’s effect on drug trafficking. The film shows how parts of the cocaine valley collapsed. and with them, the local economy.

Viaplay Group has acquired Crisis in Cocaine Valley for its Viaplay streaming service in the Nordic and Baltic countries, the Netherlands and Poland. The document is co-funded through Quintus Studios and Maximus Film. He is a prominent name in the co-financing of Quintus Content Club. initiative in March.
