SALT LAKE CITY: The physical state of Utah reported 5150 new cases of COVID-19 and 28 more deaths in the past week.
The number of new cases has continued to decline in recent weeks, according to the weekly report from the Utah Department of Health and Human Services. Last week, on July 28, Utah showed 5866 cases; last week, as of July 21, 6870 new cases were reported. The figures come with internal evidence.
Wastewater test sites showed a low in virus levels from last week. Last week, 97. 1% of sites showed higher virus levels, but this week only 70. 6% of sites showed higher virus levels.
The state report also showed decreases from last week’s report in the average weekly number of other people hospitalized with COVID-19, average hospital admissions due to COVID-19, COVID-19 cases in the intensive care unit, and the percentage of checks checking positive.
On Thursday, 210 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 across Utah, which is a report from last Thursday, which showed 252 hospitalizations.
As of Thursday, 1,015,442 cases of COVID-19 had been recorded in the state since the start of the pandemic, as well as 4,928 deaths from the disease.
