The U. S. Department of Agriculture’s Food for Progress programThe U. S. has signed a cooperation agreement with Lutheran World Relief for the cocoa price chain in Nigeria.

The task, valued at approximately $22 million, will be implemented over the next five years. The main objective of Food for Progress’s task is to increase cocoa productivity through the adoption of climate-smart agricultural measures.

In addition, the allocation will boost access to inputs, technical resources, capacity, post-harvest processing and export markets.

Lutheran World Relief will carry out allocation activities in Abia, Cross River, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Ondo and Osun states, benefiting approximately 68,000 farmers. as farmers in high-density, high-productivity communities.
