US calls on North Korea to respect Singapore joint statement

September 15 (UPI) – The U. S. diplomat on East Asian and Pacific Affairs called on North Korea to meet its obligations under the 2018 Singapore Agreement following a virtual assembly of the ASEAN Regional Security Forum that included North Korea’s ambassador to Indonesia.

“With regard to floods, typhoons, the stage in North KoreaArray . . . all of these things could be resolved if we had a follow-up to the Singapore agreement, to begin the talks, an honest verbal exchange on denuclearization,” Stilwell said.

North Korea’s ambassador to Indonesia, An Kwang Il, attended the RFA Saturday in the position of Foreign Minister Ri Son Kwon, South Korean service Newsis reported Tuesday.

A complaint at north Korea’s virtual assembly showed no instances of COVID-19. The ambassador credited North Korean leaders for the country’s good fortune in the fight against coronavirus.

The annual forum is one of the few regional meetings North Korea has attended. On Saturday, An defended Chinese politics in Hong Kong and the South China Sea.

Hong Kong is “China’s internal affairs” and “external forces” interfere with Chinese sovereignty and break the law, An said.
