Dear Alumni, Parents and Friends,
As the global, national, and local effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve throughout the day, Boston College is taking the necessary precautions to ensure the health and protection of our communities. On Wednesday, University President William P. Leahy, S. J. , announced the cancellation of on-campus categories from yesterday, March 12, through the end of the semester, noting that categories would move to online instruction starting next week. University apartments in British Columbia will be closed and educational. On-campus occasions have been suspended, as well as university-sponsored trips to domestic and foreign sites.
While no one at Boston College has been diagnosed with COVID-19, those precautionary measures are being put in place as a reaction to the growing threat the coronavirus poses to our students, staff, alumni, parents, volunteers, and friends. that I have made the difficult decision to postpone or cancel all scheduled college promotion events through the end of April. While there are still many unknowns regarding COVID-19, it is our duty to do everything we can to minimize the risk of exposure to the entire British Columbia community. Here you will find more important points about the prestige of express events.
However, as a parent of a Boston College student, I immediately think of the effect of this situation on our students and especially on the high-ranking members of the class, for whom this will be particularly difficult. I foresee the disruption it has caused this year, but I’m sure we’ll all get there together. I hope you’ll join me in supporting our scholars and parent and alumni network beyond heights by staying connected and thinking creatively. about tactics to stay engaged with each other and with the University outside of in-person meetings.
There are times when cases beyond our control remind us how much we depend on establishments like Boston College, which are pillars of excellence in our society and play a vital role in improving the human condition.
Thank you for all you do for the sustainability of Boston College’s mission.
Yours sincerely
