SINGAPORE, Sept 14 (Reuters) – Singapore on Wednesday granted provisional permission for a bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccine manufactured through Moderna, the agency said in a statement.

The vaccine has been approved for use as a booster in other people over the age of 18 who have won the first round of COVID-19 vaccines, the city-state’s Health Sciences Authority said.

Moderna’s bivalent vaccine comprises mRNA designed to target two other variants of the coronavirus: the original 2020 variant and the Omicron variant that circulated widely last winter. (Chen Lin reports from Singapore; editing via Kanupriya Kapoor)
