University of Ottawa to open coronavirus control on campus this fall

The University of Ottawa says it will be the first such establishment in Ontario to open a COVID-19 assessment center for students.

The campus center, which will open in early September, will first be available only to staff, academics, and the University of Ottawa University.

The inspection site will be located in Block D on two hundred Lees Avenue, with loose parking for visitors.

The evaluation center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a. m. 4 p. m. and will last six months with the required extension.

Coronavirus tests will be done by appointment and limited to 50 other people depending on the day in the first few weeks.

“Once the center is fully operational, the University of Ottawa Evaluation Center is also expected to ease the burden of other test facilities in the city,” University of Ottawa President Jacques Frémont said in a statement.

The university expects nearly two-thirds of its researchers and 5,000 academics with in-person learning desires to be on campus this fall, with a “small number” of universities and also, according to a statement.
