United Arab Emirates blocks passenger access on Israeli flight

ISTANBUL

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has banned access to around 170 passengers who were on board a Wizz Air flight from Israel.

The flight, operated through European budget airline Wizz Air, took off from Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, the Israeli capital, and landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates in the afternoon, according to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) on Friday.

He reported that airport officials kept disembarked passengers away and allowed passengers from other planes to land in Abu Dhabi to pass them through customs queues.

No explanation has been given for the UAE’s decision to deny access to passengers on the Israeli flight.
