Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates and Israel on Tuesday agreed to establish a joint committee to cooperate in monetary services, aimed at selling investments between the two countries, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed Al Ahmadi, Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, and Ronen Barts, Managing Director of the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for long-term cooperation in the banking and monetary sector.
At an assembly in Abu Dhabi attended by Israeli national security adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat, the two sides agreed to form bilateral teams and committees to facilitate banking affairs between the United Arab Emirates and Israel.
An American-Israeli delegation made a historic stopover in Abu Dhabi to conclude the peace treaty that marks open relations between Israel and the Gulf State.
