Undecided States: Why Those 7 States May Be Only the 2024 Presidential Election

Arizona deserves to be known as the “purple state” in the run-up to the 2024 election. This is how the political expert and president of the Winged Victory Agency, Daniel Scarpinato, explains it.

Arizona has long been a red country and has selected Republicans almost exclusively in presidential elections.

But the state is increasingly transforming and becoming a battleground state in the run-up to the 2024 election, experts say.

Many see Biden’s 2020 victory as a key indicator of the state’s “purple” status. Despite his narrow margin, Biden won the state with 0. 3% and his 49. 4% was the highest point for a Democratic candidate since 1964.

“Arizona is absolutely, completely purple,” David Byler, campaign insights expert and head of studies at Noble Predictive Insights, told FOX television stations. “It’s one of the most purple states, if not the most, on the map. ”

Experts explain why Georgia is very important for the holding of the 2024 presidential elections. The state was faithfully red until 2020, when it flipped blue for President Joe Biden, but this year, experts say the state would possibly lean more toward red, in favor. of former President Donald Trump.

Georgia has been a reliable Republican state in each and every presidential election cycle in recent history, however, 2020 proved that the state can go from red to blue, when Biden won by a very narrow margin of 12,670 votes, or 0. 25% of the most. or minus five million votes cast.

Prior to that, Peach’s estate had voted for a Democratic president since Bill Clinton in 1992.

There are many problems for Georgians as November approaches, but none are greater than inflation, experts say.

“For the past two years, (inflation) has been at the forefront of Georgians’ concerns,” said Brian Robinson, a former spokesman for Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal and president of Robinson Republic Communications.

“It’s anything that takes a lot of the motion away from Biden and adds to a lot of those who voted for him in 2020, the sense that their lives aren’t as smart as they were 4 years ago, before COVID, that things are tight. and that the outgoing president is responsible for it,” Robinson added.

Find out why Michigan is a key battleground state for the 2024 election, with advice from political expert David Dulio on key voter issues and concerns.

The fact that Michigan is an undecided state in 2024 is due to its recent electoral record and intense attention from presidential candidates, experts say.

The state has been a Democratic stronghold, supporting blue applicants from 1992 to 2012.

However, many turned to Trump in 2016, marking the first time a Republican presidential candidate has won the state since George H. W. Bush in 1988.

Trump’s good fortune in the Wolverine State can be explained by its appeal to white working-class voters, especially in rural spaces and former shopping malls.

His promises to breathe life into production jobs and renegotiate industrial agreements have resonated deeply in a state classically dependent on the auto industry. His unorthodox taste for crusades and his ability to connect with the electorate disillusioned with classical politics also played a role.

Michigan’s unexpected turnaround in 2016 underscored its prestige as a key battleground state, making it a focal point for either party in the upcoming election.

Rebecca Gill, an associate professor of political science at UNLV, discusses the key issues facing Nevada’s electorate in the run-up to the 2024 presidential election in November (FOX TV Stations/Group Content Team).

Nevada has just six votes in the Electoral College, but the state remains a critical state heading into the 2024 election, likely due to the ability of Republicans and Democrats to mobilize voters.

“We’re the best piece of the puzzle to put in given where we think those other swing states might land, and we can have a decisive difference,” Rebecca Gill, an associate professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, told FOX tv. Stations.

“One of the reasons Nevada tends to be so vital is that we have narrow margins in terms of Republican and Democratic functionality in those statewide elections and a lot of that depends on each side’s ability to determine who’s going to vote. it’s a mobilization game,” Gill added.

In particular, the participation of the young electorate in the Silver State will be critical.

“There are a lot of rumors right now about young voters dissatisfied with Biden, especially on issues similar (to the Israel-Hamas conflict),” Gill explained, noting how the issue has been discussed through the media.

“If you look at young voters, you’ll see the things they’re afraid of. . . They can’t buy a house, they might even have a hard time paying rent, so the economy is a big problem,” he said.

North Carolina is one of the few swing states that can play a major role in electing the next president of the United States. FOX’s Chris Williams speaks with Marc Hetherington, a political scientist at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Political pundits believe the race between Biden and Trump will be incredibly close in North Carolina, a state “that is almost incredibly close,” according to UNC-Chapel Hill political science professor Marc Hetherington.

“If the presidential election results in a winning candidate with more than 3% of the vote, 3. 5% of the vote,” Hetherington told FOX television.

The candidate who wins in Tar Heel State will be the one who delivers transparent messages about the issues that matter to the people, adding abortion, immigration and the economy.

“If you look at the numbers, the percentage of people in North Carolina who say that employment in the economy is the most important thing to them is by far the winner,” Hetherington said. “That’s what everyone agrees on, whether they’re Republicans or Republicans. “or democratic, about what is vital. ”

Of all the battleground states in 2024, Pennsylvania has the most electoral votes up for grabs.

Trump led the state by a razor-thin margin of 0. 5% in 2016, and Biden edged out Trump in 2020 by a margin of just over 1%. If the election were held today, Keystone State political observers say it’s difficult to see who would emerge victorious.

“When you look at the key states in this election cycle, Pennsylvania stands out,” Christopher Borick, a political science professor and director of the Public Opinion Institute at Muhlenberg College, told FOX television.

There are also few places in the country as divided as Pennsylvania. The 203-member State House has a one-member Democratic majority. And in the state Senate, Republicans have 3 members.

“It’s an incredibly divided state, which reflects what Pennsylvania is all about,” Borick explained. “It has a very giant urban area in the southeast, around Philadelphia, as well as a medium-sized urban area in the Pittsburgh Array to the west. But it also has one of the most gigantic rural populations in all of America. “

And as in many states, inflation and the economy, reproductive rights and border security are at the forefront of voters’ minds.

Wisconsin’s narrow margins influenced the last presidential election, and 2024 will be no different. We talked about what issues Wisconsinites are most focused on and how that might affect voting.

In Wisconsin, 4 of the last six presidential elections have been held by less than one percentage point, earning the state a reputation for incredibly tight margins.

Trump broke the so-called “blue wall” in Wisconsin in 2016, the first time a Republican presidential candidate had done so since President Ronald Reagan in 1984.

“This is one of the few states that won because of Trump in 2016 and lost in 2020,” said Julia Azari, a political science professor at Marquette University. “And historically, it’s a very competitive state. “

Wisconsin’s 2022 local elections, which come with the re-election of a Republican senator and a Democratic governor, reinforced how random voting can be, experts say.

Republicans hope Trump can compete in Virginia and Minnesota.

Minnesota has voted for a Republican for president since 1972, while Virginia last voted red in the 2004 presidential election.

“Early polls in either state recommend a close result, but recent history recommends that Democrats win in either state,” Jewett said.

“Virginia voted for a Republican governor in 2021, although Democrats fared better in the 2023 congressional elections,” Jewett told FOX television stations.

“Republicans also believe they would possibly have a chance in New Jersey, although I find that less likely than in Virginia. “
