Ukraine could face new situation in coronavirus cases: minister

KYIV – Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said Tuesday that the number of coronavirus cases could succeed at 8,000 to 10,000 per day in the coming weeks.

Ukraine reported a record 6410 new instances of COVID-19 on Saturday to the previous record of 5992 recorded on Friday.

The count exceeded 5,000 in October, which led the government to extend blocking measures until the end of 2020.

Stepanov said Ukraine would introduce stricter lockdown restrictions if instances reached between 11,000 and 15,000 per day and warned that medical formula resources would run out if the number of instances exceeded 20,000 (report via Pavel Polityuk and Natalia Zinets; editing via Andrew Cielos)
