Shadow minister for climate change and energy Ted O’Brien said the UK is contemplating a central repository for nuclear tea.
The repository will house low, medium, and high-level waste.
“Their plans to create a central depot . . . will allow nuclear waste from civilian and subsea plants to be consolidated into a single facility,” Mr O’Brien told Sky News presenter Chris Kenny.
“Therefore, the deep geological repository for spent fuel will be useful for civil and submarine nuclear waste.
“I think it’s instructive for Australia as we are registered with AUKUS. In the end, the Albanian government will have to tell us where this deep deposit is most likely to be found. “
