UK posts 367 COVID deaths, highest death toll since 27 May

LONDON – The UK on Tuesday recorded 367 more deaths within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test, the highest number of deaths since 27 May, according to government data.

British deaths have increased this month and Tuesday’s total is a daily figure similar to the 374 recorded on 30 March, a week after the national shutdown when the country largely prevented the spread of the virus.

The government has now imposed a number of restrictions across the country, depending on the prevalence of the epidemic in one area.

Tuesday’s knowledge showed that the UK had also registered 22,885 new instances of COVID-19, with 20,890 positive instances on Monday (report via Kate Holton and William James; edited through Stephen Addison).
