Some English hospitals have asked visitors to wear masks as Covid-19 cases rise again.
From Wednesday, hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, in the east of the country, will obtain surgical masks to restrict the spread of the disease at the site.
Hospitals in Gloucestershire, in the southwest, announced adjustments last week.
Lawmakers got rid of legal requirements by wearing masks in January following a successful impeachment campaign.
But hospitals and other fitness facilities continue to ask visitors to use them, even when the flow of disease is relatively low.
The head nurse of East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Colchester and Ipswich sites, said: “Unfortunately, we have noticed an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients, so we want infection prevention and control measures. in our facilities and facilities.
“That’s why we’re asking visitors to do their part now and help prevent the spread of covid-19 in our hospitals by wearing a surgical mask during their visit. “
The number of hospitalised patients who tested positive in England has to rise in recent days after an era of decline. Just under 5150 patients had the disease on Sept. 21, an increase of about 600 cases in four days.
The total number remains modest, but hospital leaders expect cases to rise further in the coming weeks.
An autumn retreat crusade was expected to help curb the effect of a potential autumn wave of Covid-19. In the past two weeks, the National Health Service has already delivered more than 2. 1 million doses of vaccines to patients in England. Many patients also gained flu shots.
NHS director of vaccines and testing Steve Russell said: “With expert caution that covid and flu may mix in a ‘dual outbreak’, there is no room for complacency.
“We still see a lot of covid patients admitted to hospital every day and getting a fall booster can save your life. “
He suggested eligible for an opportunity to make an appointment online or by phone.
Currently, those over 65, as well as caregivers, pregnant women and other young people with certain physical conditions are eligible for the fall booster. People over 50 are expected to take a hit in the coming months.
