Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates on Monday sent a third aid shipment with six metric tons of critical medical materials to Colombia for the country’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.
This assistance will be of approximately 6,000 fitness professionals in their efforts to involve the virus.
Commenting on the aid delivery, Salem Rashid Al Owais, UAE Ambassador to Colombia, said, “The UAE and Colombia are bound by historic ties distinguished by friendship, consensus, and cooperation on various fronts in reflection of efforts by both countries’ leadership to develop and strengthen such bonds.”
“Following the United Arab Emirates’ contributions to capacity building in the Colombian fitness sector, the United Arab Emirates sent a third aid aircraft after two more shipments containing 21 metric tons of medical aid and 200,000 COVID-19 control kits over the more than 3 months. More than 21,000 fitness professionals have benefited from this aid, saying that the United Arab Emirates is with partner nations in the fight opposite the pandemic,” Al Owais added.
To date, the UAE has responded to the COVID-19 crisis by offering more than 1,144 aid metrics to 90 countries, supporting more than one million fitness professionals.
