UAE reports more than 500 new COVID-19 instances for consecutive day

DUBAI (Reuters) – The United Arab Emirates recorded more than 500 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday at the time on a consecutive day after a build-up of cases in the Middle East monetary center.

Government communications said on Twitter that there had been 574 new infections, but that there were no deaths in the last 24 hours, as a result of 541 new infections and two deaths reported a day earlier.

Schools in the United Arab Emirates reopened this week, some continue to learn only remotely after suspicious cases among employees, state news firm WAM, which mentioned the Ministry of Education, reported.

Daily infections are at their highest since 683 cases were reported on July 5.There have been periodic spikes in cases since infections peaked in May.

Businesses and public office have reopened since the national curfew was lifted on June 24 and the Dubai resort reopened foreign visitors on July 7.

A government official said last month that the curfew may be restored if there were a large number of infections.

The United Arab Emirates recorded 70,805 infections and 384 deaths from the new coronavirus, but the government reveals where infections or deaths occurred in the country of seven emirates or states.
