Two other people have been arrested in the United Arab Emirates for spreading false rumours about the Covid-19 pandemic.
Both were arrested through the prosecution’s workplace for a “manufactured” story broadcast on the Abu Dhabi Sports Channel, according to which five members of a circle of relatives from the United Arab Emirates died as a result of the coronavirus.
“The incident that aired on Abu Dhabi Sports Channel is false and fabricated, the family circle does not exist and the story is absolutely fictional invented through the first defendant,” the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced Tuesday.
