The United States, the country most affected by coronavirus, reported 66528 new cases saturday, a record for a 24-hour period, according to a Johns Hopkins University account.
The country has now recorded a total of 3,242,073 infections, the Baltimore-based university said to its most recent knowledge at 8:30 p.m. (00:30 GMT on Sunday).

The death toll is 134,729 with another 760 deaths recorded.

On Saturday, President Donald Trump put on a mask in public for the first time, even though it all tilted in the face of intense tension to set an example in public health.
Trump wore a dark mask with the presidential seal as he walked through Walter Reed Military Hospital outside Washington to meet with wounded veterans.
According to this week’s reports, attendees have almost begged the president to surrender and wear a mask in public, and to be photographed, as cases of coronavirus in some states increase.
They come with Florida, where Disney World reopened two of its 4 Orlando theme parks on Saturday, even when the state reported 10,360 new infections and 95 deaths.
Visitors on Saturday had booked their tickets in advance, allowing Disney the number of other people in the park and taking into account the social distance.
Visitors had to go through temperature controls and hand sanitizer widely available.
Disney said it imposed a social distance of six feet (two meters) at attractions and shops.
