The United States recorded 68212 new coronaviruses on Saturday in the last 24 hours, Johns Hopkins University reported in its real-time count.
That brings the total number of in the world’s hardest hit country to 4,174,437, the Baltimore-based university said at 8:30 p.m.

An additional 1,067 deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 146,391.
After a drop in infection rate last spring, the United States experienced an outbreak of coronavirus, mainly in southern and western states such as California, Texas, Alabama, and Florida.
Over the next 12 days, the number of new cases reported per day exceeded 60,000.
Scientists agree that an increase in death rates follows the spike in infections by three to four weeks.
The death toll in the last 4 days has exceeded 1,000.
