Nearly 1,500 new deaths from COVID-19, the death toll in three months, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday.
The news comes just 48 hours after President Donald Trump insisted that “the recent accumulation of cases has been accompanied by a significant accumulation of deaths.”
The seven days of new coronavirus deaths have now remained above 1,000 in the more than 17 days, The Post reported.
In Georgia, where some recently reopened schools have been forced to close after the COVID-19 outbreaks, more than one hundred new deaths have been reported for the time in a row.
More than 165,900 more people have been killed in the United States by COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, while examining dozens of indefinite forecasts, predict that up to 190,000 Americans may have died until the end of August.
