U. S. General Visits Armenia

Maj. Gen. Daniel Lasica, director of strategy, planing, and policy for U. S. European Command. The U. S. Embassy arrived in Armenia on Wednesday, the U. S. Embassy said. U. S. in Yerevan.

“During his visit on November 16 and 17, Major General Lasica will participate in wreath-laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Armenian Genocide Memorial,” the embassy said.

Lasica met Wednesday with Armenia’s national security chief, Armen Grigoryan, to discuss U. S. -Armenia security relations and regional security issues.

During this meeting, Grigoryan presented the efforts of Armenians in the direction of structural and really extensive reforms of the Armenian army.

According to the U. S. Embassy, Lasica is planned for Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Edward Asryan.

“Major General Lasica will participate in a ribbon-cutting rite to mark the finishing touch of the new U. S. -funded barracks, dining room and convention hall in the area of Zar peacekeeping education,” the embassy said.
