The three circulating respiratory viruses have similar symptoms, and most patients recover within a week or two, younger and elderly people are at risk for severe illness.
A surveillance formula that tracks visits to ambulatory and emergency care departments for bloodless symptoms, such as fever or sore throat, showed “high” activity for this time of year, he said.
