Two days before the end of July, COVID-19 instances in PH reached 85K

Of the total number of infections, 56,528 are active cases.

There were also 388 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 26,996.

However, the number of COVID-19 deaths in the country amounted to 1,962, with 16 new deaths.

The DOH noted that there were 61 duplicates, seven recovered cases, that were subtracted from the total number of cases.

It also updated the effects of 3 cases, one that in the past had been recorded as a death and which was later known as a recovery. In the past two cases were reported as cures, but were then verified as cases of death.

“These are already included in new deaths and recoveries,” the DOH said of validated cases.

A study published through OCTA Research (UP) from the University of the Philippines had predicted in the past that COVID-19 cases in the Philippines could succeed at 85,000 by the end of July.
