MILWAUKEE – Northwest Health Center and Southside Health Center began testing COVID-19 on Monday, but on Thursday they are now providing car flu shots.
“People can go for the COVID test, the flu shot, or both,” said Nick Tomaro, preparedness coordinator for the Milwaukee Health Department.
Jill LeStarge, nursing manager for the Milwaukee Department of Health’s immunization program, said the procedure is easy because patients complete a registration form before being vaccinated against influenza.
“We seek to make sure that other people are from the flu and that the flu vaccine is replaced every year, so if you received a vaccine last year and last year, you want to get it back this year,” LeStarge said.
Jill said the flu can have a devastating effect on teams of the same age at most in the face of the threat of serious COVID-19 headaches. That’s why he encourages everyone to get vaccinated.
“Especially our elders, so by protecting you from the flu, you put up a layer of shieldion, it may not protect you from COVID, but you subes shieldion for yourself,” LeStarge said.
“Everything we do for dresses with COVID-19 prevention mask, hygiene, physical distance, all this is also helping for the flu, so it is very vital to perceive that those things that we insist on every day, all day to protect people,” Tomaro says.
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends annual flu vaccination for anyone 6 months of age or older. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), influenza viruses usually occur in the United States every year, peaking from the overdue fall to early spring.
Most others who become inflamed with the flu virus without serious complications.
