“The Russians are directing their missiles into residential areas, buying grocery stores, shopping malls and apartment buildings,” Tymoshenko said.
Oleksandr Sienkevych, mayor of Mykolaiv, said two hospitals were damaged by the shelling, but no one was injured.
The regional army leadership said Russian forces continued to fire on communities around Mykolaiv, but caused casualties.
Villages along the border between Mykolaiv and Kherson are on the front lines as Ukrainian forces try to penetrate Russian defenses in the region.
