The Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TİKA) goat and agricultural equipment to 11 citizens of Niger, members of AVEN, namely the Association for the Promotion of Ecotourism in Niger.
According to UN data, about a part of Niger’s population lives below the poverty line. Niger is one of the countries most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the terrorist attacks that have hit countries in the sub-Saharan West in recent years.
Many other persons employed in representative sectors of the country’s economy, especially tourism, have been adversely affected by such ordinary developments.
Tour guides guiding tourists visiting the Kouré giraffe reserve rehabilitated through TİKA piled up under the roof of AVEN after wasting much of their source of income due to the 2020 terrorist attacks that dealt a severe blow to the region’s tourist capacity.
For example, TİKA provided excursion guides with 44 goats, 11 plows and fertilizers for their economic situations and give a contribution to agricultural and livestock production in the region.
The kits were delivered at a rite held in the Kouré giraffe reserve rehabilitated through TİKA. , the Republic of Türkiye and the other Turks for their help.
With this assignment, some sixty people, adding up the 11 guides discussed above and their families, gained a source of income assistance. The allocation aims to provide a greater source of income and develop agricultural and livestock production in the region.
